This weekend I spent my time moving Dan into my parents rental. This is also where my office is located. Its funny how there needs to be certain things from his place that helps me be more creative and that makes me comfortable and relaxed so ideas come easier. I am in hopes that this is the best thing for the both of us.

So my office has been kinda boring because of my limited budget; right now I am de-clutter it and finding items that are about $10.00 and under to decorate the space. I have found some lime green paper lanterns to hang from the ceiling and have put Dan in charge of finding a LED light to put in them. I have also found some really cute green planters. I find the more new stuff that I get in my space the more I am creative.

Any ideas? Please comment to tell me them!

its been a hard week

Over a week ago I got rear-ended in Kirkland while stopped at a red light waiting for traffic to clear to make a right turn. The guy's whole reason for not stopping was he was going to go at the same time as me (but like I said earlier I was stopped and you have to stop at a red light even when turning right). I don't think that I would ever wish this experience on anybody even my worst enemy. I am doing okay, was really sore for a couple days and started deep tissue therapy to help the back and neck muscles. Luckily I was driving my dad's boat of a car that was able to stop an f150 from pushing me into on-coming traffic and absorb most of the hit and I had no passengers. The trunk lid is now pushed up about an inch and the bumper is a little dented. Unfortunately it seems like all I do now is talk to the insurance company and give my statement thus this has left me dry for creativity. So please keep my family in your prayers as we try to figure out where to go from here.

A couple weeks ago Mom and I had the opportunity to stop at Deception Pass State Park. It was a very wet and cold day so we didn't stay long, but I was able to get some pictures of rocks.

My design teacher Greg always told us to take a walk and pick up thing from nature, things that we are drawn to because of texture or color and because they made us think. After walking a little on the beach I could not get enough of how well the grays, browns, and greens worked together with rocks so here are the picture:

I just love the earthy tones. God has the best eye for color!

Here are some pictures of Mia.This is Mia sharing her dog food with our old barn cat. Mia even shares her bed with her.

These next two pictures are of Mia with the toy that Uncle Rocky gave her. Sara had this toy and Rocky thought Mia would love it, and she does! Mia runs around the yard all day with that monkey thing in her mouth. This toy also makes a loud smooching sound, the first time Mia heard it she dropped it in the middle of the yard and ran behind a tree and just looked at it. Since then she lays there for hours trying to get it to make a sound. She also likes to take this out to hay field and roll around with it, and just love and cuddle it. It has become her baby doll.

So I was informed today by some of my blog fans (aka Mom and Caleb) that I haven't posted a blog in a while. So here one is. Lately I have been busy working for a client. A couple weeks ago the whole family came down sick with sinusitis (a

really bad cold), after coughing up blood Dad thought that it would be a good idea to take us down to the walk-in clinic to get some anti-bionics. The doctor told my parents that I was so adorable that they had to keep me, Dan said that my parents should of told her that she could take me home since I was so cute to her. . . he did say it with a smile.

Mia is doing good. While we were sick all she did was lay in the yard and look through the window and waited for every moment that she could see us, which surprised me because I have a hard time keeping her home. She proved herself to us as a excellent watch dog. She has also figured out that if she barks then she gets to see us. Now if she is lonely or cold she barks to see if we will pay attention to her.

Other then that nothing much has been going on. The time just seems to go faster and faster. I am in hopes to be done with some more art work by next week. But for now here is a hot air balloon poster for you to enjoy.

Trip to the Zoo

Dan and I went to the Woodland Park Zoo on Saturday. We had fun walking around together. . . but all the animals looked so sad. The zoo had a new flamingo exhibit and for those who don't know I love flamingos so it was very cool to see them up close and see how big they really are or should I say how small they are. All the snow is melting and it is causing all the rivers in Washington to flood. Luckily my parents house is about 200 feet above town so we are pretty safe. Here are some pictures I got from the internet today.

It has been snowing in Arlington since 3:00 in the morning. So Mia and I have had lots of fun walking, throwing snow balls and making a "snowdan". Dan dropped by for lunch since he had a snow day at work and we had a chance to take some pictures. It seems that we couldn't all figure out how to look at the camera at the same time, oh well it gives us character.

As many of you know, Mia is extremely smart and picks up on new stuff instantly. The other day I taught her to beg. Now when she is in trouble she knows that if she begs and looks at me with those big brown eyes that I fall in to her trap and I quickly forget what happened.

My website is becoming more and more complete. I think it took me months to design it and change it into what I wanted. I now have the design part in dreamweaver (the web program that I use). Now it is the fun part of trying to find the server I want to use, buying space, and posting it online. Honestly it is only by God's grace that I have gotten as far as I have.

This week I have been busy with getting ready for my display table down at the bank. Picking up supplies to make it all have unity, getting brochures printed, and making changes to projects. This morning I took some time to play around with a photo I took during my trip to Montana with Dan this last September. This is a bison hiding in the trees of yellowstone. It was a clear cold morning, the sun was shinning and the frost had just melted.

As most of you know it has been very wet in Washington. Many rivers are flooding, and for a couple days there my family thought the river we cross over to get to our house was going to flood also, luckily it didn't. . . or should I say hasn't yet this fall. So while it was pouring down rain I got my Rainproof Camouflage on and took the opportunity to take some photos.

Today I received a call from my bank in Arlington. I have the chance to advertise on a table set up in their lobby for a week in December. It will be a good opportunity as a start up company to get my name out to the local businesses. The hard part will be deciding what to display, what will grab the attention of people, and how to make businesses want my product in a time many are struggling.

My life is pretty lame. . . but the parts that are not so lame can pretty interesting. I am a Graphic Designer and work from my home (when I do have work). I recently graduated with my Associates in Fine Arts. When I am not working or trying to find work I stay busy with my boyfriend Dan (who is a whole other blog himself) and my dog Mia who is a 2 year old border collie (who keeps me on my toes all the time). I enjoy photography, cooking, sewing, decorating, shopping, farming, camping, hiking, road trips, and in the more recent years hunting (thanks to Dan). I would like to use this blog as a working sketch book posting some of my thoughts, my art, and writing about what life has to throw my way.
